T onight I picked up my wedding dress and veil from David’s Bridal. The assistant at the front desk remembered who I was (well, she didn’t exactly remember my name, but she did remember how there had been a small snafu at my first visit, and that I was in their system twice). When she pulled up my account, she had written a note to remind herself which of the two accounts was the correct one, which was great customer service! My maid of honor, Allison, was ready to start booking wedding dress appointments for me the week after I got engaged (which was 16 months before the wedding)! W ith David and I both being graphic designers, it’s not a shocker to know that we have/are designing our own Save the Dates and Invitations. For the longest time we didn’t really know what “theme” our wedding was going to take – and to be honest, I don’t think the actual event will be reflective of a single theme or color scheme (even though we HAVE picked out colors). F rom the moment we started planning our wedding, I knew I had to have a cupcake display. For everyone who knows me, this comes as no surprise – I LOVE cupcakes! However, just going completely cupcake was a difficult concept for us to get our heads around. No cake at all to serve to the guests traditionally? What do we “cut” for tradition? Buying a House Changes Everything
S o, we own a house! It’s pretty crazy to wake up and realize you own the four walls you’re sleeping in… but it’s an awesome feeling, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. As I said in my last post, buying this house has really put some things into perspective for us, and that included the amount we were about to spend on the wedding. Now obviously, we want the wedding to be a great experience, but that doesn’t have to mean super expensive. And frankly, an over the top fancy night just isn’t US.
