The Shoes Make the (wo)Man

The Shoes Make the (wo)Man

No, these gold sneakers are not my wedding shoes ;)

As pretty as some shoes are, there was absolutely no way I was buying/wearing fancy heels for the wedding. I never wear them in my daily life, and only sporadically for special occasions. My feet have never adjusted to them, and I don’t understand the point of being uncomfortable just to look stylish.

I warned Dave not to expect me in heels at either the reception OR ceremony. I thought he might not be happy about that; sometimes I bring up suggestions that would “casualize” the wedding more than it should be/already is, and he has to remind me that we (and our guests) want to make this a memorable day. However, to my great relief, he completely understood.

It was one of those moments that reminded me why we’re getting married – he understands me completely, even down to something as silly as shoe choice.

I did have a specific style of flat shoe in mind though, and knew it might take me a while to find the “right ones”. So I’ve been browsing around online off and on since I purchased my dress, hoping to stumble on the right pair, and the right price.

And lo and behold, where did I find them? On eBay, brand new with tags, for $18 with free shipping. SOLD!
