Dollop is a Cupcake Wars Winner!
O n February 19 our cupcake vendor, Dollop, was on the Food Network tv show “Cupcake Wars”. And guess what?! Dave and I clearly picked a winner as Heather, the owner of Dollop, goes on to win the Monster truck themed episode. Can we say we knew her before she was famous? Epic Cupcake Tour of 2012
Y esterday was one of the most looked forward to parts of wedding planning, for me – the cupcake tour! As I said in a previous post, we’re doing cupcakes (with a slight twist) instead of a traditional cake. Cupcakes are, after all, my favorite food! Our plan was to visit each of the bakeries/cakeries that were in the running, order a few cupcakes over the counter, and bring them back to our house to do our own taste testing. We wanted to narrow our choices down to one or two bakeries to keep working from there (hopefully including another taste test of some narrowed down flavors). Of Cakes and Cupcakes
F rom the moment we started planning our wedding, I knew I had to have a cupcake display. For everyone who knows me, this comes as no surprise – I LOVE cupcakes! However, just going completely cupcake was a difficult concept for us to get our heads around. No cake at all to serve to the guests traditionally? What do we “cut” for tradition? Or do we even CARE about that tradition? Thankfully, neither of us felt particularly compelled to save a piece of cake to eat on our one year anniversary (one year old cake?!
